2.If you have to buy a second hand moses basket always replace the mattress with a new one and also a cot.never use a cot mattress that is too small for the cot just because someone may offer you one free.

3.Never buy a second hand car safety seat.Some schemes in the uk offer parents safety product loan schemes and will set up the equipment for you. check with your local health visitor for what may be available in your local town.

4.Never buy a baby walker ( sit in type with wheels), dangerous! baby’s move faster and accidents happen frequently when baby is becoming more mobile.

5.Snowsuits for a baby due in the Summer.babies can overheat.It is much better to add several layers which can be removed if baby is too hot.

First the products you need to buy to get you through the first few weeks, as baby gets older you may have more money to spend on the larger equipment or ask family members to club together to buy the larger items instead of baby clothing gifts.

1. Buying one item of clothing a week is a good start you need items that will need to be washed and used over and over again such as vests, hats, socks, baby grows, cardigans, 2 coats.So dont skimp on these as some cheap ones dont come up nice after a couple of washes.babies need a few chnges during the day they bring up milk feeds, baby sick, pooh leaks out at the side of the baby grows so you will need quite a few changes.

2.Buy the nicer clothes near the time of the birth so you have an idea which will fit baby.if you are having a big baby dont buy anything smaller than a newborn.(up to 12lb).

3.Buy a new pram with all the extras so you dont have to hunt around shops finding a rain cover or sun canopy months down the line. You may find it difficult to get them later on as new stocks come in.

4.Buy a new moses basket and stand.Baby bath and basket for all the baby bath products, creams etc.changing mat.Sterilizer,weaning spoons and little plastic pots with klids. Good to freeze small amounts when weaning starts Never add salt as salt kills babies.

5.You need at least 2 baby hooded towels really good to keep baby snuggled in after a warm bath.
